Mopar Oil Filters
Genuine Mopar Oil Filters Available Now
There are no benefits of dirty motor oil. Once your oil is filled with debris and makes its way to the engine, it can cause serious damage to other components of your vehicle. Plus, performance won't be the same. You can avoid all the hassle by changing out the oil filter regularly.
When Should I Change my Oil Filter?
As you know, your oil filter was designed to catch dirt and other particles from entering your engine. Most owner manuals recommend replacing the oil filter about once every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. This equals out to about once every three months or every time your vehicle gets an oil change. If you have an extended-life oil filter installed, they'll usually last about 10,000 miles, depending on how much you drive.
How to Change an Oil Filter
- Step 1: Loosen the oil fill cap
- Step 2: Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug
- Step 3: Take out the oil plug to drain out the old oil, and replace the plug
- Step 4: Check your owner's manual to locate the oil filter
- Step 5: Put the oil drain pan under the oil filter, and screw the filter off
- Step 6: Place the old filter face down in the oil pan and let it drain
